Britney Spears has agreed to hand the parenting reins over to Kevin Federline.
K-Fed’s longtime attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan exclusively tells E! News that the divorced duo have reached a settlement in their long-gestating custody case.

According to the agreement signed by all parties, Federline gets sole legal and physical custody of sons Sean Preston and Jayden James and Spears will have visitation rights.

“The case has been settled,” Kaplan said. “The court still has to approve it. ” Both parties are due in court Friday morning.

The case had been set to go to trial next month but all had been hoping to settle up beforehand.
“As of this evening there is a fully executed deal memo…All the issues that would have been addressed at trial have been settled,” Kaplan told E! News. “Can’t speak to the exact terms of the deal. Orders in place…will stay in place.”

But although this is theoretically good news for Federline, Kaplan maintains that this isn’t exactly what his client had in mind.

“Kevins was not [out] to get custody. Kevins goal was to set up some kind of template so the mother of his children can co-parent,” Kaplan said.

“He said I need to have Britney to be involved in the coparenting of the kids but I need there to be a structure.”

Over the years Britney Spears has gone through a lot. As part of the Mickey Mouse Club on Disney, Britney started her career in show business at an early age and probably missed out on her childhood. I’ve been a fan of Britney’s from the beginning, and I have supported her for the most part. I try to make this blog “Britney Free” when it comes to her kids, as I don’t think the world needs to know every detail of her custody case.

Then there is today. It turns out Britney is giving up her kids to Kevin Federline. K-Fed is getting full custody of their two sons, which of course comes with thousands of dollars a month in child support.

I want Britney to get better, and if this is the way, then more power to her. But this whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. What kind of mother gives up her kids? I’ll tell you. The kind of mother that never should have had kids to begin with.

Kids will not make your life complete. A child is not a bet that you can send to the kennel when you go on vacation. Parenting, as Jamie Lynn Spears says, is not “So much fun.” Children are a responsibility that will last for the rest of your life.

The world is changing, and so are our values. However, children should not come before marriage. If you can’t handle a marriage, you can’t handle a kid. Period.

So to all you celebs that are having kids on a whim or out of wed-lock, F*ck you, Suck it.

Jessica Alba, Jamie Lynn Spears, Nicole Richie… you are bad examples in a world full of impressionable & irresponsible people.

Britney, I hope you are making this decision to give you the time you need to help you become a better person and mother, and not just a way to dump your kids because you want to party and you didn’t want them in the first place. But somehow I think it’s more of the latter.

Britney, you are a loser. But the real losers are your kids.
