Conflicing reports abound this morning on whether or not Patrick Fugit (pictured) will replace Tobey Maguire as the new Spider-Man. Fugit was in Spun and Wristcutters. He was in Almost Famous.
Here’s what we do know: Last week, it was rumored that Sony Pictures is looking to shoot Spider-Man 4 and Spider-Man 5 at the same time using a script by James Vanderbilt that spans the two films. While that hasn’t been confirmed, Latino Review added its own rumor… that Peter Parker/Spider-Man may get recast for the films.
According to Sony pictures: Sony Pictures tells us that there is no truth to the rumor that the studio is looking to replace Tobey Maguire in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in future “Spider-Man” movies.
If they DO replace Tobey, I call for a complete re-boot of the series. Time for some fresh new blood, and a new direction for the Spidey flicks.

After the comments the stars made ofter the release of the last movie, I will be shocked if they are in the next one.
It was something a long the lines of “We are the movie. If we were not in it they wouldn’t have a movie”

I think it;s time for Peter Parker to hang up his coat and not be in another movie. 3 is enough. Heck 2 was enough, the last one sucked!
